Norfolk Blue Restaurant and 100 Acre Farm
The old Homestead Restaurant at 100 Acre Farm on Norfolk Island reopened for business on 6th January 2010 with a new look and feel as Norfolk Blue Restaurant, Grill and Bar.
The Restaurant is the realisation of nearly 5 years of planning and 12 months of refurbishment. The goal being to showcase the quality of beef produced on 100 Acre Farm as well a vast array of other local produce grown on the Island.
In 2002 Robyn’s fascination with some of the local Norfolk Island cattle, which had distinct blue/grey appearance, inspired her to commence an acquisition program for breeding.
Robyn’s research revealed from various locals (including Bubby Evans) that they were a distinct Norfolk Island heritage herd which had evolved over many years through a combination of the mainstream breeds on the Island including Shorthorn, Angus, Hereford, Red Devon, Friesian, Murray Grey and quite possibly others.
In 2005 the 100 Acre Farm breeding program commenced to produce what is today, Norfolk Island’s own unique breed of cattle called “Norfolk Blue”.
The Norfolk Blue Restaurant Grill & Bar offers restaurant cuisine, specialising in Norfolk Blue beef and other fresh local produce together with a high standard of customer service in a beautiful setting and relaxed environment.
We are proud of the fact that we utilise and offer a wide range of other local produce and products, including local coffee, honey, cheese, wines and liqueurs, to enhance our customers’ experience. At Norfolk Blue we build our menus around seasonality and availability so that we can utilise local produce at every opportunity.
We strive to provide a memorable experience for each and every customer who visits our restaurant. Comments from our satisfied guests can be found in our guestbook.
